The first trailer for Colette has arrived, and I’m placing bets now that the sight of Keira Knightley in a suit will have every queer woman trying to buy tickets now ahead of its January 2019 release date.

Based on a true-story, Keira plays Colette, the wife of the ambitious and controlling Willy, played by Dominic West. Presented with the opportunity to write a book, published of course under Willy’s name, Colette finds her story is the toast of Paris at the turn of the century. But as her success grows, Colette begins to explore herself in ways she never dreamed, including her gender expression and sexuality.

And yes, that is Denise Gough dressed in an early 1900s masculine-cut suit.

The film also stars Denise Gough (Angels in America, People, Places & Things), Fiona Shaw (Killing Eve, Harry Potter) and Rebecca Root (Boy Meets Girl).
