The Expendables Trailer

The Expendables will bring back the badasses of the 80s, lead by writer, director and professional word-slurrer, Sylvester Stallone.

Sly plays Barney Ross (does he look like a Barney to you?), the leader of the hardcore military equivelant of The A-Team. Barney and his gang of toughnuts are hired to overthrow a fascist dictator but things aren’t quite what they seem. It’s a tongue-in-cheek action romp with a cast of made up of the toughest movie stars: Bruce Willis, Jet Li, Dolph Lundgren, Steve Austin, Mickey Rourke, Jason Statham and Arnold Schwarzenegger will all be making appearances with the Rocky star.

Rec 2 Teaser Trailer

You might have just had your breakfast but we thought we’d show you the brand new teaser trailer for [Rec] 2, the sequel to Spanish horror [Rec].

The original movie was remade into Quarantine in 2008 and featured a bunch of people sealed into an apartment with a demonic/zombie-esque virus. If you haven’t seen either version, we highly recommend going with the Spanish version – yes we know there are subtitles but you can suck it up for one movie, can’t you?

[Rec] 2 picks up the story right where the original ended. A SWAT team arrive at the apartment to clean up the mess and to get a blood sample from one of the victims in order to figure out what happened. Cue violence and mayhem and a SWAT team that wished they’d called in sick that day.

There’s a whole lot of bloodshed and shaky-cam work and it looks to be as terrifying as the first movie. If you’re weak of stomach or just a wuss, you might want to watch this new teaser trailer through your fingers.

Cemetary Junction Trailer

From the pens of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, comes Cemetery Junction and this time they’ve paired up to direct the movie as well.

In 1970’s Reading, Freddie, Bruce and Snork are trying to grow up. But Cemetery Junction’s a dead-end town and they’re beginning to feel trapped. Freddie thinks working at an insurance firm will solve his problems, Bruce is satisfied with drinking, shagging and fighting his way through life while Snork just wants a girlfriend.

Things look up, for Freddie at least, when he runs into childhood friend Julie. Can she help him make a fresh start or will she stay with her boyfriend who just happens to be Freddie’s boss?

You can see Cemetery Junction in cinemas from 14th April. Check out the trailer and let me know what you think, drop a comment down below.

Whip It! Trailer

This year Drew Barrymore will be skating onto the big screen with her directorial debut, Whip It.

Bliss Cavendar (Juno’s Ellen Page) is forced to move to the small town of Bodean, Texas by her family. Her controlling mother would love nothing more than for Bliss to compete in beauty pageants but she’s got other plans. When Bliss joins a local roller derby, she realises that she’s finally found a place where she belongs. Aww.

Barrymore and Page star with Kristen Wiig, rapper Eve, Juliette Lewis and Deathproof’s Zoe Bell.

With a cool soundtrack and a girl power vibe minus the outdone 90s sentiment, Whip It looks like a lot of fun. So get your skates on and book your tickets because Whip It will hit UK screens from 7th April.

Scott Pilgrim Teaser Trailer

Well the trailer for Edgar Wright’s Scott Pilgrim vs The World is finally here folks and honestly, it’s pretty mind blowing.

Sure it’s got Michael Cera in it but I’m totally willing to side-step that fact and focus on its awesomeness. Here’s a synopsis courtesy of IMDB.

Scott Pilgrim’s life is so awesome. He’s 23 years old, in a rock band, “between jobs,” and dating a cute high school girl. Everything’s fantastic until a seriously mind-blowing, dangerously fashionable, roller blading delivery girl named Ramona Flowers starts cruising through his dreams and sailing by him at parties. But the path to Ms. Flowers isn’t covered in rose petals. Ramona’s seven evil exes stand between Scott and true happiness. Can Scott beat the bad guys and get the girl without turning his precious little life upside-down?

Scott Pilgrim vs The World opens in the UK on 27th August.

Legend of the Guardians Trailer

Following 300 and Watchmen, Zack Snyder takes a different turn to explore the world of the beloved children’s novels through GG animation, featuring the voice talents of Helen Mirren, Geoffrey Rush and Hugo Weaving.

The acclaimed filmmaker makes his animation debut with the fantasy family adventure Legend of the Guardians based on the beloved books by Kathryn Lasky. The film follows Soren, a young owl enthralled by his father’s epic stories of the Guardians of Ga’Hoole, a mythic band of winged warriors who had fought a great battle to save all of owlkind from the evil Pure Ones. While Soren dreams of someday joining his heroes, his older brother, Kludd, scoffs at the notion, and yearns to hunt, fly and steal his father’s favor from his younger sibling.

But Kludd’s jealousy has terrible consequences—causing both owlets to fall from their treetop home and right into the talons of the Pure Ones. Now it is up to Soren to make a daring escape with the help of other brave young owls. Together they soar across the sea and through the mist to find the Great Tree, home of the legendary Guardians of Ga’Hoole—Soren’s only hope of defeating the Pure Ones and saving the owl kingdoms.

The film features the voices of Emily Barclay, Abbie Cornish, Emilie de Ravin, Ryan Kwanten, Jay Laga’aia, Miriam Margolyes, Helen Mirren, Sam Neill, Geoffrey Rush, Jim Sturgess, Hugo Weaving and David Wenham. Snyder is directing Legend of the Guardians from a screenplay by Emil Stern and John Orloff, based on the novels by Kathryn Lasky.

Now I’m fulfilling our promise. I can now reveal that the official opening date of the park will be 18th June!

I’ve no doubt that there will be a big ass grand opening for the park and I’d put money on the stars of the movie making an appearance.

But before I rush off to bother our local Thomas Cook agent, I’ve got a few presents for you.

First up we’ve got a digital video tour of the park, courtesy of Inside The Magic, that shows us exactly what buildings are included, with a closer look at Hogwarts castle.

Now here are some pictures that take you inside the castle for the Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride. What exactly is forbidden about it I don’t know but I can’t wait to find out. Do It!

This year’s cinema screens will have Titans Clashing and Asses being Kicked but it’ll also see Julia Roberts travelling the world in Eat, Pray, Love.

Here’s the official synopsis, courtesy of Sony Pictures. ‘Liz Gilbert (Roberts) had everything a modern woman is supposed to dream of having – a husband, a house, a successful career – yet like so many others, she found herself lost, confused, and searching for what she really wanted in life.

Newly divorced and at a crossroads, Gilbert steps out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life, embarking on a journey around the world that becomes a quest for self-discovery. In her travels, she discovers the true pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy; the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of true love in Bali. Based upon the bestselling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert.’

It’s directed by Glee creator Ryan Murphy and will see a September release.
