Eat, Pray, Love Trailer

This year’s cinema screens will have Titans Clashing and Asses being Kicked but it’ll also see Julia Roberts travelling the world in Eat, Pray, Love.

Here’s the official synopsis, courtesy of Sony Pictures. ‘Liz Gilbert (Roberts) had everything a modern woman is supposed to dream of having – a husband, a house, a successful career – yet like so many others, she found herself lost, confused, and searching for what she really wanted in life.

Newly divorced and at a crossroads, Gilbert steps out of her comfort zone, risking everything to change her life, embarking on a journey around the world that becomes a quest for self-discovery. In her travels, she discovers the true pleasure of nourishment by eating in Italy; the power of prayer in India, and, finally and unexpectedly, the inner peace and balance of true love in Bali. Based upon the bestselling memoir by Elizabeth Gilbert.’

It’s directed by Glee creator Ryan Murphy and will see a September release.

Video: Behind The Scenes Of Twilight: Eclipse & Exclusive Scene

The latest film in the Twilight series, Eclipse, is nearly upon us and I’ve brought you something to make the wait a little more bearable.

In this the third instalment, Bella and Edward still have to defend their relationship to the Volturi whilst trying not to get killed in the war between vampires and werewolves. Oh and Victoria wants to rip Bella’s throat out.

She’s having a hard time of it in Eclipse but at least she’s got Edward to cosy up next to.

If you need a fix to satisfy your twilight addiction then look no further, here’s a behind the scenes look at the film and a full scene from the movie! Eek!

The whole gang’s on hand to talk about the movie where we can see them training for their stunts, working with green screen and generally mucking about.

Dr. Horrible Hitting The Big Screen

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along-Blog is a shining example of what Joss Whedon can do when the damn networks keep their noses out of his business. I’m talking to you Fox.

The series followed Dr. Horrible as he attempted to defeat his nemesis Captain Hammer (Nathan Fillion), takeover the world and win the heart of Penny (Felicia Day). The wildly popular three-part web series garnered a huge following which has of course gotten the attention of the movie world.

MTV had a chat with Dr. Horrible himself, Neil Patrick Harris, to find out what he knows about the possibility of a movie sequel to the series.

“Apparently they’re making a Dr. Horrible sequel, a feature film I hope… I hope they cast me in it… We’ll see.”

I hope so too, but we all know that movie execs think they know best, which doesn’t always result in fans getting what they want.

“I don’t know what scale, they’re talking all options, because they made the first Dr. Horrible in five days on no budget at all…

You don’t want to make the feature film be an $80 million giant movie, because it defeats the purpose of what the first film was made to be, but then again you don’t want it to be so low brow that it’s not worth paying money to see as a movie.”

Fans of Whedon may still be grieving over the loss of Joss’ latest effort Dollhouse, but maybe one day the studios will realise that he actually knows what he’s doing. Buffy, anyone?

You don’t have a hit show for seven years and a spin-off for six by accident, you know.

Fire Destroys Set of Harry Potter

As we wait patiently for the next film in the Harry Potter series, disaster strikes the set of the hit movies.

A fire ripped through the set of the Hogwarts castle, but luckily it looks like the blaze only burned down a mock-up version of the famous school of witchcraft and wizardry. The set at Leavesden Studios, near Watford, was attended to by six fire engines and burned for over 40 minutes before being extinguished.

According to the News of the World, an explosive scene was being filmed for the Battle of Hogwarts sequence – a key scene in the books and a fan favourite, when the replica set caught alight.

One source described the event, “We were shooting the scenes where Hogwarts gets blown up in battle, but fire managed to catch hold of the set and it went up in flames. It was completely out of control at one point.”

Thankfully, none of the principal cast members were involved and no-one was harmed, but the special effects team were reportedly very upset by the fire.

“The special effects guys involved are devastated. There’s always a risk when there’s shooting involving fire and explosives but this shouldn’t happen.”

Tony Smith, Watford fire brigade commander, told the Daily Mail, “There is a big battle scene involving a lot of pyrotechnics and explosions. There is a mocked-up castle made of timber, steel and plastic – somehow it caught alight.”

Though much of the replica set was destroyed, production will continue but will it affect the scheduled finish date?

Penelope Cruz’s Pirates Role Revealed

As Pirates of The Caribbean 4 rolls along nicely towards production, I have a snippet of information to pass along to you.

MTV recently spoke to Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of the franchise, who dished on the role that will be played by Penelope Cruz, who was cast earlier this year.

“She plays the daughter of Blackbeard. She’s the daughter of the bad guy.”

The bad guy in question will be played by 44 Inch Chest’s Ian McShane who is confirmed as playing the infamous pirate.

“She brings a lot of humor to it. And the fact that she’s so feisty…[there’s] a little romance between [Depp’s] Captain Jack and the character that Penelope plays.”

Well there’s a huge surprise. The two best looking people in the cast will hook up – shocking.

My only problem with casting Cruz and McShane as father and daughter is that Cruz born and raised in Spain and has a very strong accent. Now this could mean that McShane will try a Spanish accent, Cruz will try (and fail) at an English one or it’ll be explained in the script that she was raised in Spain. Either that or they’ll just pretend that everything’s normal.

Well they might be able to explain away the accent, but how are they going to cover up the fact that Cruz could be well be a seahorse?

Predators Trailer

For Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal’s reboot of the Predator franchise, we’re going back to the jungle to be hunted by some intergalactic badasses.

After a group of elite soldiers find themselves stranded in a jungle, they must team up in order to fight off whatever is hunting them. But survival doesn’t look like an option after they realise that they’re in a hunting reserve used by the Predators.

The cast has got a few big names but if you really look at it, they’re not exactly the action heroes we were hoping for. Topher Grace and Adrien Brody? Really?

Lawrence Fishburne lends the film a bit more credibility with Danny Trejo boosting it’s cool cult factor and Alice Braga starring as the token lady soldier.

It looks like a lot of fun with some balls-out action scenes but I’m a little sceptical. Check out the trailer, courtesy of IGN, and let me know what you think – drop a comment down below.

Kick-Ass Red-Band Trailer

This movie is going to be a strong contender for best film of the year because it looks so awesome. I’ve got a trailer for you, thanks to ComingSoon, but you’ve got to be big boys and girls in order to watch as there are a few naughty words in it.

The film follows high school loser Dave Lizewski as he tries his hand at being a superhero, not letting the fact that he has no powers stand in his way.

Calling himself Kick-Ass, he soon encounters heroes with a bit more experience and a lot more firepower than he in the shape of Big Daddy and 11 year old daughter Hit Girl.

Starring Nowhere Boy’s Aaron Johnson, Nicholas Cage, Mark Strong, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Chloe Moretz, prepare yourself for the cine-gasm that is Kick-Ass.

‘With no power, comes no responsibility’.

Straight From Hell: The Best Movie Devils

I’m no angel but believe me, but even on my worst day I’m not a patch on some of these guys.

Yes it’s the Breadline’s favourite movie Devils! I’m celebrating the very best of the very worst people in cinema thanks to The House of The Devil which opens this weekend.

So let’s look at our favourite eternal villains, it’s gonna be Hell!

DARYL VAN HORNE – THE WITCHES OF EASTWICK

Jack Nicholson brought new meaning to the phrase ‘horny Devil’ when he played Daryl Van Horne in The Witches Of Eastwick. In the movie he seduced and then shacked up with Cher, Michelle Pfieffer and Susan Sarandon – nice work if you can get it.

After manipulating the women and the town, the ladies decide to rid themselves of Daryl by practising a little voodoo. Here’s Daryl in full flow, helping the women exact revenge on a holier-than-thou town gossip. But be warned, you won’t be able to keep your lunch down.

Do It!

Video: Sneak Peek At The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

My tickets are booked, my bags are packed and I’m already wearing my Hogwarts capes. OK, I might be a tad premature in preparing for the opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, but I wouldn’t want to miss out like a chump.

And if you’re anything like me then you’ll want to stay tuned to the Breadline all next week because there are going to be two big announcements from Universal about the theme park.

Check out this video which shows the Daniel Radcliffe and co filming what looks like some accompanying footage to the rides. Eeek!

I know right! So make you to check back with the blog on the 25th of March to find out what’s going on.

Warner Bros Announce All Blockbusters To Be In 3D

Well it was bound to happen at some point. Warner Bros have revealed their plans to release all of their future ‘tentpole’ movies (Superhero, Potter & CGI spectacles) in 3D.

According to SlashFilm, Alan Horn, President of WB, made the announcement at the ShoWest industry convention.

They’re hoping that they can prove how good an idea this is once Clash of The Titans is released in 3D after a conversion.

Horn also made it clear that due to the Harry Potter series coming to an end, they’re hoping to fill the void with DC comics’ library.

While Potter has been the franchise standard to beat, Batman movies are just as eagerly anticipated and now, as they’re WB property, this means the next time we see the Dark Knight himself, it could well be in 3D.
