#20GayTeen is still going strong with the release of queer coming-of-age drama, The Miseducation of Cameron Post. Based on the debut novel by gay writer Emily M. Danforth, the film stars Chloë Grace Moretz as a young lesbian who’s sent off to a Christian conversion camp by her parents to straighten her out.
After attempting to participate in the camp’s practices, Cameron and her co-conspirators (Sasha Lane and Forrest Goodluck) decide that freedom to be yourself is better than restraint in the name of God.
In addition to wanting to see cool, young queers accept themselves, go for the rural 90s fashion.
Directed by Iranian-American Desiree Akhavan, the film was well-received at Sundance, even winning the Grand Jury prize for Dramatic films. See it in cinemas from Friday 31 August 2018.
